Licensee Training (LT) - Sydney CBD

Licensee Training is a requirement for most licensees, approved managers and club secretaries:

  • granted a new liquor licence or transfer of existing licence to another person or premises (from 1 September 2018)
  • aligned to the renewal of your existing NSW competency card (from 1 April 2019).

The training helps to better prepare you for the challenges of operating a licensed business, while ensuring a vibrant and safe hospitality scene.

Licensee Training is for most licensees, approved managers and club secretaries. It covers a range of topics designed to support you to:

  • Overview of liquor regulation in NSW
  • Managing your liquor licence
  • Your responsibilities to manage alcohol related harms
  • Best practice strategies to prevent alcohol related harms
  • Compliance and enforcement.

Cost $399 - Autumn Special

LT Requirements

Before enrolling, students must possess a valid SITHFAB021 Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA) accreditation. If you already hold a current NSW RSA endorsement, this will automatically renew on completion of Licensee Training.

If you have an RCG competency, because in NSW all competencies expire on the same date, you will need to refresh your RCG before coming in to CBD College to complete your LT training.  To refresh your RCG, see the L&G website here.  You must present an RCG Interim Certificate, RCG Refresher Interim Certificate or an RCG Refresher Completion Certificate issued within the last 90 days to enrol in the Licensee Training.

If you have completed or renewed RCG competency more than 90 days ago, to request a link to the online RCG refresher course -

Course Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Licensee Training course, you will receive a LT course completion certificate.

To incorporate the Licensee Training certification onto your NSW Competency Card, please access the Competency Card self-service portal. This process can be conveniently completed online using the provided link. Click Here

If you hold a digital competency card, the LT endorsement will be automatically added to your digital card free of cost.

Note: In NSW all competencies must expire on the same date, calculated five years from the first competency gained. For example, if your RSA competency expires in June 2024, even if you gain your LT competency in Jan 2023 both competencies will still have an expiration date of June 2024. This ensures all your competencies are current  and expire on the same date.

---

Completing Licensee training will automatically renew your existing RSA competency, however, it does not automatically renew your RCG competency.
